You Tube content creation: a hobby or a marketing tool

Like it or not, social media has created new incredible opportunities to reach and connect to people, sell products and services and even make a living! Weather you are looking to get "internet famous" or use You Tube as a way to show "behind the scenes" of your business, to teach people new skills or purely as a hobby, let's talk about it all (or about whatever we can manage to fit in 2 hours).

MOTIVATION
Why are you/ do you want to be on YouTube?

NICHE
Do you have a specific niche or you're relying on trial and error to discover what works best for you. Do you focus on what you want to do (fun hobby), sharing what you know (tutorials) vs. what's popular/ gets views?

VALUE
What kind of value do you provide. Why should anyone watch you. What makes you different from the rest?

GOALS
Do you make videos for the pure enjoyment of it or do you have certain goals in mind. What are your aspirations?

DEALING WITH THE NEGATIVITY/ THE SILENCE
When you start getting popular you'll probably face negativity, how do you handle it? Alternatively for the smaller players out there silence can be as discouraging as hate comments, do you keep going if nobody seems to care or do you persevere. How do you know it's worth it?

EQUIPMENT
On the more practical side- what do you use to create your videos? Do you invest in fancy equipment or just DIY and bootstrap your way through it? Or maybe something in between?
