Kickoff with our new Sponsor AWS - Getting Started with AWS IoT!
Our meetup group is re-structuring this year and we are excited to announce our latest sponsor - AWS! This meetup will be kicking off the first in a series of events. We will be providing food and drinks. About this Meetup: AWS IoT is a managed cloud platform that lets connected devices easily and securely interact with cloud applications and other devices. In this session, we will discuss how constrained devices can leverage AWS IoT to send data to the AWS cloud and receive commands back to the device. We will discuss how devices can connect securely using MQTT and HTTP protocols, and how developers and businesses can leverage the AWS IoT Rules Engine, Thing Shadows, and accelerate prototype development using AWS IoT Device SDKs. We will demo the AWS IoT console and a sample use case. About the Speaker: Ashish Rawat is a Certified AWS Solutions Architect. He has 7 AWS certifications and is also CISSP certified. He has worked at AWS for over 1.5 years and IoT is his AWS area of depth and interest. Prior to AWS, he was Enterprise Architect at HP for nearly 6 years.

What we're about

This group is dedicated to design, engineering, and marketing of technology at the intersection of sensors, tiny computers, data, and the internet – the Internet of Things (IoT). We are talking hardware startups, urban infrastructure, wearables, health monitoring, environmental monitoring, office robots, drones, and more. Let’s cross pollinate experiences and opportunities among DIY’ers, engineers, designers, researchers, and entrepreneurs. Along the way we hit Arduino, Beaglebone, Raspberry Pi, Node.js, Bluetooth, WiFi, 3D Printing, DIY Robotics, Computer Vision, and Smartphones.
