Serve KC Volunteers are serving the AWESOME volunteers that make the Johnson County Christmas Bureau event successful! The Volunteer Celebration will include a brief membership meeting and award presentations. This is a pot-luck for attendees with main course and beverages provided. SKC Volunteers will set-up, manage the buffet line, keep drinks full, and clean-up. All volunteers need to arrive at 5:00 to set-up before attendees arrive at 5:30.
SKC Volunteers will have the opportunity to eat once the attendees have gone through the buffet line. JCCB leaders will tell volunteers when we are allowed to eat. Attire: Nice jeans or khaki style pants and shirt (no T-shirts) and close-toed shoes comfortable for significant standing and walking.

The Johnson County Christmas Bureau (http://jccb.org/) provides holiday assistance to low-income residents of Johnson County, Kansas. At the annual Holiday Shop, pre-qualified clients, by appointment, select groceries, personal care and household supplies, children's clothing, hats, gloves, scarves, coats, toys, gifts, and books pegged to family size, age, and gender. All items are new with the exception of books and coats. At the 2018 Holiday Shop, JCCB served over 12,000 individuals and 900 nursing home residents.
JCCB is a volunteer driven grass roots charity. It takes a village of over 3,500 neighbors to run the Holiday Shop. We have a volunteer staff of over 100 people who work on the various committees and departments year round. We depend on donations from the community - both in-kind and monetary - to obtain over one million dollars in merchandise that we distribute to our low-income neighbors.
