More than a meetup, this Server Side Swift group is a conference that takes place over a year. Instead of holding 8-10 talks a day over 3 days, we host conference-duration talks that feature the leading server-side Swift projects throughout the year. These talks are hosted in Newmarket, Ontario, but are broadcast on Google Hangouts Air and recorded for YouTube.
This group is for people, of all skill levels, who want to learn more about programming in server-side Swift. Past sessions have featured the authors of Perfect, Zewo and Vapor showing participants how to start a project, deploy a project, and generally work in the respective frameworks. And participants have come from all over: Toronto, Newmarket, New York City, LA, San Francisco, and Brazil!
And if you're looking for some front-end Swift to go with server-side, check out this downtown-Toronto-based meetup group focused on front-end Swift: http://www.meetup.com/Swift-Hack-Night/ . They do some fun things, and our meetups are complimentary - giving interested developers (experienced and neophytes) choices and options to connect with more people.
Check out both groups if you're interested to learn more about Swift or Swift on the server. And follow us on Twitter at @SSSYLC.
