Bob Balaban, Principal Software Engineer, CA/Veracode
7:00pm-8:00pm - Common Design Patterns in Serverless
Jesse Butler, Cloud Native Developer Advocacy, Oracle
With Serverless adoption on the rise, an obvious initial question is "what can I do with it?". Web and mobile backend implementation, real-time file and stream processing and other use cases are an excellent fit for Serverless. But, there are many more. In this talk, we'll get familiar with what Serverless is, then dive in by looking at some design patterns and what sorts of workflows we can leverage. We’ll also review some design considerations and best practices.
Jesse's background
Member of the Cloud Native Developer Advocacy group within the Oracle Cloud organization. He grew up in systems and OS development and spent several years working on Solaris at Sun Microsystems, later joining Oracle and moving to Linux development. Jesse is currently focused on the developer experience with cloud native technologies on Oracle Cloud including serverless and the Fn Project.
