Up until this past year, I used to think writing raw AWS CloudFormation and SAM was the best way to write IaC for AWS. Having spent the past year experimenting and building with AWS CDK, it's clear, this is a huge game changer for building on AWS, and writing IaC as code in general.
Join me as I discuss what finally made me jump from CloudFormation to CDK, and why CDK has become my #1 go-to for building on AWS.
In this presentation, we'll take a look at an existing raw CloudFormation built serverless web app and CI/CD pipeline, and see how easy it would have been to build it in CDK instead. Time permitting there might be a special treat with Amazon Alexa at the end as well!
