Serverless - From Code to Production

Details
Our first meetup is here with three great talks!
Join us on September 4th at Microsoft ScaleUp Tel Aviv, for the first meetup of Serverless TLV!
This meetup is about two of the most important things in any software system - writing the software, and fixing problems in production later.
Agenda
18:30 - Beer and pizza
19:00 - Introduction to Step Functions - Heitor Lessa, AWS (Specialist Solutions Architect, Serverless and Developer Technologies)
Ever needed to send a notification, whether that be an email, SMS, or a message to a Slack channel? Already familiar with Serverless but haven’t yet seen something built from scratch? In this short live coding session, we create a quick API to send notifications across different channels and build on that knowledge to integrate with a State Machine to simplify our overall API and future maintenance (Did I mention code, CloudFormation, and gotchas will be shared at the end?).
19:30 - Think Functions - Adam Matan, Binaris
In this session I will present a demo backend application built entirely out of functions, covering architecture, design patterns, and relevant code samples.
19:50 - Distributed Tracing in Serverless Systems - Ron Yishai, Epsagon
Understanding serverless systems is a complex task since each service is separated from the others. Distributed tracing is key to understanding such systems. In serverless, there are unique challenges and opportunities which make distributed tracing powerful for gaining observability.
20:10 - More beer
Hoping to see all of you!
