Collective Change
Details
Aloha Serv Labbers!
This time around, we partnered up with the magical folks from OpenIDEO London chapter to run a combined event!
This last event of the year is going to be slightly different than usual. Thanks to the expertise of OpenIDEO, the event will be a combination of talks and activities that will make us reflect on creating collective change. As researchers, designers, and innovators working across different sectors and regions, we want to create a space to come together to share and learn from each other.
The format might be different but there are some things that never change as the great line-up of speakers! We will be hearing from:
- Emma Parnell (she/her), Head of Design at Joy, and her story working on the Covid-19 vaccination booking service at NHS Digital and how she ensured that the service was inclusive for people of any sex or gender;
- Angus Rama Keck, Chief Operating Officer at AgUnity, telling us about using blockchain tech to support farmers in developing countries through the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Ahsan Khan (he/him), Co-Founder of Climate Labs, speaking about using Systems Thinking to explore pro-sustainability behaviours within communities with people of colour.
Tickets
Tickets for the event are £3.50 with all proceeds going to be donated! We will collectively decide the organisations during the event.
We also understand this is a unique and difficult time for all so there are also free tickets available, drop us a line, we are here for you!

How to join
We'll host the event on Zoom. As soon as you purchase the ticket you will be able to see the link on the event's details on this page (on a computer screen is usually on the top right corner - right under the date and time). You will need to have downloaded Zoom, then you just click the link and you will be in. More info on Zoom https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362193-Joining-a-Meeting.
Make sure the name you are using for accessing the zoom call is the same you have here on Meetup, this is our only way to figure out who bought the ticket and let people in!
You can choose to have your own video on or off. We will mute everyone during the presentation and when you join, so anyone won't be able to hear you unless you unmute.
We will be recording the session.
This event is a pets and toddlers welcome-zone, we welcome everyone and every household, so please do feel free to attend whatever the location, situation. Whether you're eating, cleaning, still doing work etc.
Accessibility: We always try to make this an accessible and inclusive event. If there is anything else that we can do to make this the best experience for everyone please let us know.
Peace and love,
The Service Lab team <3
