What we're about

So you got your hands on a sewing machine ... now what? Learn how to sew like a pro, from threading the machine to picking out pattern to finishing that special project -- a purse, a pillow, a blanket, or whatever your heart desires!

Fabric ninja Esther Bennett has been creating custom interior acoutrements for fashion-conscious clients throughout the Bay Area for 15 years, and has opened a teaching studio in San Rafael to mentor:

* Aspiring designers

* Sewing novices who want to create a gift from the soul for that special occasion.

* Crafters looking to accelerate the learning curve on a new or recently acquired sewing machine.

Four-hour workshops on the second and fourth Saturday each month will take aspiring designers from the basics to a hand-crafted finished project that will reflect each student's unique creative flair.

Limit: 4 students per class (one for each sewing station)

Cost: $50 per 4-hour session

You supply: Sewing machine and a bagged lunch.
We supply: Fabric and expert project guidance, from start to finish -- along with tips for making the most of your particular machine.
