2022 NOTICE: SHAKESPEARE LOVERS - MD, VA + DC The group is continuing to meet via ZOOM for health/safety reasons.
Our group is dedicated to studying and savoring a single play per season, followed by a post-reading DVD Party to wrap up each cycle. The minimum requirement is a familiarity with the summary of the play as the gatherings are designed to bring all attendees - from beginners to aficionados - on the same page, and allow us to enjoy the wisdom from our diverse perspectives!
GOAL: My goal for the group is to ensure a focus on the art of Shakespeare's own words - chosen for their poetic beauty, their wisdom, or both - to facilitate our discussions and commentary. Great art is a wonderful way to nurture our inner beings and I hope the group would help facilitate such experiences for you!
STRUCTURE: We typically meet once a month for three months - diligently going through a third of the play with each gathering - and the fourth month is dedicated to the DVD Party! Meetings are limited to 8 members, to allow for some intimacy in our discussions, and often a "Repeat" gathering is held to cater to more members.
LOCATION: The location of the gatherings is usually in Chevy Chase, MD - a walking distance away from the Friendship Heights metro stop! (Or "Zoom" which was our salve during the pandemic!)
