Ayni Despacho at Sonic Yoga NYC

The ceremony is called an Ayni Despacho. A Despacho is a communally created prayer bundle that holds symbolic elements and the prayers and good intentions of the participants.
Traditionally, in the Andes, an ayni despacho ceremony is performed after each earth cycle to renew and re-imprint the powers of nature on the luminous body. Its power is to bring participants into harmonious relationship with heaven and earth, with our past present and future as well as with the organizing principles of the Universe. It is a perfect way to celebrate the Equinox!
Corn, grains, chocolate, flower petals, and other natural ingredients are arranged to create a beautiful mandala of blessings. As the participants add the various elements, the Despacho becomes a living prayer that brings energy shifts and healing! Once complete, the Despacho is buried (for slow, steady results), burned (for quicker transformation) or fed to the running waters ceremonially releasing the prayers to Spirit.

Participants just need to bring their prayers and good intentions! Following the Despacho we will do some joyful drumming and rattling so feel free to bring a favorite drum or rattle.
