Whether you are new to meditation or have been practising for aeons; regardless of your spiritual beliefs or religious affiliation, you are welcome to join us!  Our little Sangha is part of Shambhala International, a world-wide non-profit community of over 220 meditation groups and centers.

We offer meditation group sittings every Wednesday evening.  

Doors open at 7:15 PM.  The Meditation begins at 7:30 PM.  This Meetup typically wraps up at 9:30 PM.

Meditation Session Format:

- 20 minutes of Sitting Meditation (on a cushion or chair) 

- 5 minutes of Walking Meditation (you may sit or stand, if preferred) 

- 20 minute Sitting Meditation (on a cushion or chair)

With three taps of the bowl we finish the above meditation session.  Then, for the next fifteen minutes, we enjoy some hot tea together.  Afterwards, we set the chairs and cushions in a circle, where we gather for fun and interactive group discussions, as we read from a book or listen to a pod cast on the teachings of Buddhism, The Dharma and Shambhala.     

Through meditation we develop the possibility of meeting our everyday activities with awareness, peace, wisdom, compassion and a sense of humour. We welcome people of all ages, faiths and walks of life who are looking for something – perhaps meditation instruction and a place to meditate regularly or are looking for like-minded friends. 

Check the meetup calendar for more information on talks and courses about developing awareness, compassion and meditation instruction. Meditation instructors and educators from other Shambhala Meditation Centres facilitate at each session.
