What we're about

Sharing the Moon Meditation offers meditation, zen koans, conversation, and practice events led by Illana Berger and Jan Brogan. We are a satellite of the Pacific Zen Institute in Santa Rosa, California, directed by John Tarrant, Roshi. Our mission is to create a culture for transforming the mind through meditation, koans, conversation and the arts.

We are a new community offering an Introduction to Zen Koan Meditation on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. Notifications will be sent if there are changes or cancelations.

We meet from 10:30 - 12:00.

• What we'll do We will meditate with a Koan (a story, parable or short exchange), have a short Dharma talk, share tea & snacks and have a lively conversation with all present. We meet the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month and have a different Koan each time. You can find the new koan each month at: www.sharingthemoon.com We often imagine that it is necessary to change what is happening in our lives or exchange it for something better. We want to change it into something easier, calmer, more fun or more interesting. With spiritual practice you come to discover that this very moment, your very life in this very moment, is it. Everything is it! Regardless of whether it is shame, fear, anger, sadness, resentment or joy, love, clarity, or ease - It's all a gate to freedom - especially our obstacles. Join our community on the 2nd and 4th Sunday for meditation with Zen Koans, tea and conversation. • What to bring Bring yourself and your open heart • Important to know We begin promptly at 10:30 - if we have begun when you arrive, kick off your shoes at the door and come on it. Find a seat or cushion and join us.
