A lightning talk is a short ~5-10 minute talk over anything that you find interesting! Talk topics can range over a personal project, a new technology, or just something that makes you think "hey, I bet other people might like to know about this thing." It's a great way for you as an attendee (and speaker!) to learn about a lot of new things that you didn't know about before.

Elizabeth Mchughes is a full stack developer with 2 years of experience in the software engineering field. She had originally received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Oklahoma but spent years in jobs outside the field. Eventually at the age of 30, she decided to go back to school for Computer Science. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2021 and began her first job at MY Consulting Group shortly after that. She has recently been enjoying mentoring women new to programming in the SheCodes network.
Amanda Kis is a lecturer at the University of Oklahoma School of Meteorology and instructor in the Department of Mathematics, with nearly two decades of experience teaching STEM subjects. Amanda has spent several years building Python skills—via bootcamps, workshops, and personal coding—to create course materials. She now teaches workshops in Python, Git, and Unix Shell geared toward undergraduate researchers, graduate students, research scientists, and other beginner-to-intermediate learners, and she completed Carpentries instructor certification in summer 2023. Amanda is a new member of Techlahoma and excited to participate in the community.
Chelsea Haldane. After dipping her toes into the development sphere a few times in the past, Chelsea finally took the plunge in the fall of 2022 into a full-time developer bootcamp through a partnership between the University of Oklahoma and Fullstack Academy. She graduated with her certificate in February of 2023 and has continued her coding adventures, working as a volunteer for FSCOK and Soonercon and, more recently, as a full-time Associate Technology Operations Developer for Arvest Banks. In her spare time (what’s that?), Chelsea enjoys knitting and reading. Chelsea is a proud member of Techlahoma and SheCodesOKC, and she is excited to share her journey with you.
