Steps to Transition to Business Ownership for a LIFE of your Own Design
Overview: Transitioning to becoming a business owner can be overwhelming. In this conversation we break it down to the first five existential questions every entrepreneurs must ask before starting a business. Then we will spend some time discussing business ownership, brainstorming and sharing ideas. Optional: The evening will end by networking and socializing over a drink at a nearby bar. Agenda: 6:00 PM: Welcome and Introductions. 6:15 PM to 8:00 PM: Presentation Five Existential questions. 7:00PM- 8:00 PM: Discussion and brainstorming. 8:00 PM: Optional - Let's have a drink! Presentation: Many entrepreneurs have the necessary abilities to succeed, however they fail because they mistakenly choose or are sold a business that is not in alignment with their strengths and their life’s objectives. This discussion sheds light on what existential questions aspiring small business owners should ask to best position themselves for success, and before they spend significant time, money and energy in starting any business, should it be an independent startup, a franchise concept, or the acquisition of one that is for sale. Your Host: Patricia Bottero St-Jean is an International Business Advisor and Speaker with over three decades of experience in the sector of small to midsize enterprise (SME) ownership. A native France, Bottero St-Jean began her entrepreneurial journey 34 years ago when she immigrated to the US to start a business which she grew over 25 years while creating jobs for a team of 50. Today, Bottero is also founder of OPEN FOR BUSINESS, LLC a consulting practice that provides services, workshops, and webinars for individuals who are exploring business ownership and for owners who wish to expand their enterprise. She advises her clients with business research, business plans, and executive coaching. Her educational background includes a BA in Political Economy – International Area Studies from the University of California, Berkeley and an MBA on Global Innovation from The California State University.
