Exploration of practical functional patterns with Elm-lang (Christian Møller Takle)

UIs today are more complex than ever. In order to tackle today's requirements without fear, we need better tools and new ways of thinking.

I will show you how the expressivity of Elm's abstract data types, records and signals can help structure and build robust client-side applications.

We are going to focus on how to break an application into three distinct parts: model, update and view, and demo a small Elm-application and see how we can translate it into plain Javascript using the same approach.

A Quick Hike Through the Famo.us/Angular Landscape (Paul Egan)

A discussion of how Famo.us works and how it integrates with Angular using a real-world example of adding a smooth view transition to a mobile app. The talk will focus on the code, showing the progression from simple Angular templates to more complex animated elements. Time permitting, we'll discuss the relation of Famo.us to other frameworks and cover deployment to mobile.
