This is NOT an in-person event. Sierra Club group outings are currently suspended indefinitely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
These Exercise Guides are intended to assist and encourage exploration of parks and natural areas in the Huron Valley Group region. Please enjoy them on your own or, using appropriate social distancing and masks, with others.
Now is the perfect time to explore the Arb and become comfortable on its wonderful secondary trails. With the trees still bare, you can often see the main trails when you're on the hill trails, so you don't need to worry about getting disoriented. And, as always when on the Arb's secondary trails - if in doubt, go downhill; downhill will always lead you to a main trail.
If you haven't been on the back trails at the Arb, you might be pleasantly surprised by how woodsy it can feel. Even in these strange times, with greater than normal usage of most of our natural areas, the back trails at the Arb are not too busy.
Trails will be dry, some are a bit steep, most are dirt with some stones and roots. Expect lots of hills.
The event is free; parking is free *on weekends* if you park in the M28 lot across from Mary Markley hall.
