Prospect Trail Hike in Valley of Fire
December 18 (Tuesday) Prospect Trail, Valley of Fire State Park The Valley of Fire is Nature’s gift to the hikers of Las Vegas. Hike along a fault, and through the strange and colorful landforms. Let’s keep our eyes open for tracks and petroglyphs in the Jurassic rocks. What kind of tracks might we find? 400 ft gain in elevation, 5.0 miles total. welcome your donations to support our important local work. Thank you for all that you do to explore enjoy and protect Nevada and our public lands.

From our base in Las Vegas, the Southern Nevada Group is proud to serve Sierra Club members and friends throughout the lower portion of the state, including residents of Clark, Nye, Esmeralda, Lincoln and White Pine counties. Our certified Outings leaders provide opportunities to explore the region’s natural bounty, with frequent hikes scheduled along the trails of Red Rock Canyon NCA, Lake Mead NRA, Valley of Fire State Park, Humbolt-Toiyabe National Forest and other areas of scenic beauty and wilderness.

We have quarterly mixers, environmental education programs, tabling events and cause-related political activities are regular features of our annual calendar.
