About us
This page covers the Missouri Ozarks and Springfield area outings and events!
This is a group for anyone who likes to get outside and enjoy nature-- you don't have to be a Sierra Club member! We will be organizing hikes, float trips, camping, and other outdoor adventures! All skill levels welcome!
The Sierra Club is America’s largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization, with more than 3.5 million members and supporters. In addition to protecting every person's right to get outdoors and access the healing power of nature, the Sierra Club works to promote clean energy, safeguard the health of our communities, protect wildlife, and preserve our remaining wild places through grassroots activism, public education, lobbying, and legal action. Stream Sampling at Shepherd of the Hills State Park
Location not specified yetHave you ever wondered about the many tiny creatures living in our Ozark Streams? The White River Group of the Sierra Club is going to help collect and count all kinds of aquatic macro invertebrates, such as snails and crayfish, at Shepherd of the Hills State Park on Saturday, June 20.
Shepherd of the Hills State Park is one of our newest state parks, purchased in 2016 and working towards opening to the public. Sierra Club members are playing a critical role in the parks protection through activism and advocacy. This outing will give participants a sneak peek at this beautiful new park - plus we will be helping with important research.
This event is hosted by Sierra Club which is not affiliated with MeetUp. While this listing is posted on MeetUp for visibility, official registration must be completed through our website.
