Blair Lake Family Weekend

Blair Lake Family Weekend

Details

Join the Many Rivers Group for a weekend of exploring at Blair Lake. Tucked away from the beaten path, Blair Lake lies about 17 miles northeast of Oakridge. This warm sub-alpine lake offers gentle slopes for swimming and rich water packed full of brown trout. On Saturday, we will be hiking a 2.5 mile portion of the Blair Lake trail (3553). This out and back adventure will start at Blair Lake and end at Spring Prairie Shelter where we will eat lunch and play in the beautiful natural prairie. We will meander on a dappled sun trail through natural meadows and prairies. Blair Lake Trail is an excellent intermediate hike for the adventurous family, photographer or seasoned veterans of the outdoor world. On Sunday there will be opportunities to walk the trail around the lake, fish, swim, identify wildflowers and pick huckleberries. Breathtaking views, sweet mountain huckleberries, and natural meadows await you. There is a water source, restrooms, and garbage facilities. Bring tents, warm sleeping bags, cooking stoves, and plenty of warm layers as it does get chilly at night. Also bring a pack for day hikes. Please contact Sarah Holston at sholston@uoregon.edu
