About us
This group is open to anyone, not just Sierra Club members. There is no charge for trips, other than permit fees (when required). The Miami Group is the local chapter of Sierra Club for Southwest Ohio. Miami Group has a long history of leading various types of outings: Paddling, Hiking, Biking, Backpacking, Camping and Service Outings. All outings are led by leaders who have been certified to meet local and national Sierra Club standards.
Miami Group welcomes participation by the LGBT community, all minority groups, and veterans: Help us broaden the reach of the environmental movement!

See You at the Miami Group Annual Picnic!
Issac Walton League, branch hill loveland re., Loveland, oh, USThe Miami Group annual picnic will once again be held at the Izaak Walton League on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
You can join a cycling outing early in the day, bring your kayak or canoe for a paddle on the Wild & Scenic Little Miami River, or come later for games, food, music and fun.
Please bring the food you want to eat or grill and a potluck dish to share, as well as your own “no-waste” plates and utensils.
Schedule of activities:
- 1:00 - 3:00 Group Bike Ride (or enjoy hiking or kayaking on your own!)
- 3:00 - 4:30 Visiting, games (cornhole, giant Jenga, environmental board games and more)
- 4:30 - Start the grill and potluck
- 6:00 - 8:15 Music with the fabulous Brian Williams, karaoke and camaraderie
Members and non-members alike are welcome! Volunteers to help set up, clean up, grill and serve would be greatly appreciated.

Eco-Themed Board Game Night
Deer Park Branch of the Library, Meeting Room A, 4020 East Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, OH, USPlease join Sierra Club Miami Group and local board gamers for an evening of eco-themed board games. We’ll have a wide array of games on hand, including beginner-friendly games that are quick to learn and quick to play, and weightier games for experienced gamers.
Bring your family and friends.The space allows food and beverages (but no alcohol) so feel free to bring your dinner, or a snack to share.
What do we mean by eco-themed board games? Some games focus on nature or ecology, like Wingspan, Photosynthesis, Cascadia, or Butterflies. Some focus on transportation or mass transit, like Ticket to Ride, Trans America, or Metro. Some focus on energy and land use, like Powergrid and Suburbia. Some focus on parks and eco-tourism, like Parks, Trekking the National Parks, or Trails. Some focus on gardening, like Planted or Lotus. Plus lots more. Feel free to bring your own eco-themed board games. The goals of the evening are to have fun, build friendships, and learn something about sustainability.
