Sikh Readers Club is a book club inspired from the great tradition of learning and dialogue in Sikhism. It is a place where we read books from Sikh history, world history, mysticism, spirituality, activism and other genre based on interest of member readers.
Sikh Readers Club read and discuss mindful and authentic literature on Sikhism, social justice, Sikh fiction and non-fiction, and diversity.
We meet in different locations (different Gurudwara Sahib) in Brampton on last Sunday of the Month, where we discuss and share ideas on the book of the month selected by members of the club.
We are looking for book lovers, creative minds, and explorers who can meet on monthly basis and will help in brightening the spirit of learning and sharing ideas in the community.
We will read the Spirit Born People written by Sikh Philosopher Prof. Puran Singh in our inaugural meetup. Prof. Puran Singh Ji was one of the most prominent writer of Sikh Philosophy and Mysticism in 20th century. His contribution to Sikh literature and philosophy is unparalleled.
Below is the face to face of the book by naujwani.com
"Peter Micis" an admirer of Prof Puran Singh wrote about the book in his review
'Spirit Born People' is a marvelous monument to Puran Singh's spiritual omnivorousness, a magnificent meditation on what it means and takes to draw us closer to our Beloved. - Peter Micic
