Silat is an umbrella term for the hundreds (if not thousands) of martial arts styles originating from the Malay Archipelago, which encompasses modern day Malaysia, Southern Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore and the Philippines. The character, expression and emphasis of a silat style is usually the product of the terrain and culture it emerged from.

Seni Gayong

Seni Gayong is a form of Silat Melayu, or Malay Silat, which was established in the Malay Peninsula and Singapore by the late Dato Meor Abdul Rahman. Today it is one of the most popular styles of Silat in Malaysia. It is both expressive and combative; uncompromising in its warrior instinct but undoubtedly a unique artistic form to behold.

Our approach to Silat encompasses not only the martial aspects, but its expression as a performance art and an internal discipline.
