Agile Metrics: Beyond Burndown Charts Featuring Agilist, Tanner Wortham!
DESCRIPTION:
When some discuss agile metrics, they get no further than burndown charts or velocity. While useful, these are hardly a mediocre start. Come learn one organization's story as they discover what did and didn't work, what dangers they faced and avoided, and how they use data to foster a culture of experimentation.
We'll talk about what metrics matter most, attributes of good and bad metrics, and who should select them. Additionally, we'll show some of our own measures of success that have helped our teams in their journey toward higher performance.

ABOUT TANNER:
Tanner is the author of a popular agile blog at www.SpikesAndStories.com, and is a software engineer turn Project Manager turn Scrum Master. He's helped organizations in the gaming and travel sectors as they explore how agile can benefit them and their customers. Currently, he's the lead Scrum Master for Study.com, a company transforming the education space through programs like the Working Scholars (http://study.com/pages/working-scholars.html) program, which offers a free bachelors degree in numerous cities across Silicon Valley.
He's been accused that his military training would mold him into a rigid, unmoving Scrum Master, but nothing could be further from the truth. What civilians call agile, the Corps calls leading Marines, and it’s through his experiences as a Marine that he derives most of his insight as a Scrum Master.
