Colleagues, I will be on business travel for most of October, and could really use some help with the October 15 event at Nvidia:

If someone else could volunteer to pick up the pre-paid catering from Subway or buy the chips, fruit, sodas, ice that would be wonderful.    Thanks to Nvidia for presenting and hosting the event.

-- Our Thursday event with Stanford Prof. Prabhakar at Hacker Dojo is overbooked:

Please cancel your attendance as soon as possible if you can't make it.   Cancelling on the day of the event is a waste of time.  Thanks to Hacker Dojo for hosting and to ICS for underwriting refreshments!

I could use a volunteer to pick up the prepaid catering on Thursday as well.

-- I welcome announcements of job openings, other groups' events, job seekers, training classes, software releases, etc.   There is always an opportunity to mention these brief notices at the beginning of every meeting.   When SVAOS meets at Hacker Dojo or Mentor, demos are welcome too.

-- I would love a volunteer to take better photos at our meetups than I do and post them on the groups site.

-- Nissan runs the excellent Silicon Valley Autonomous Vehicles group.   Consider joining!    Or just listen to Nissan's new podcast feed:

The audio quality is not great, but the one presentation to which I've listened so far is excellent.

-- Also consider joining Chris Novak's Electronic Vehicle Entrepreneurs Silicon Valley group

which on Oct 17 feaures, "The $99 Level 2 Home Charger -Dr. Valery's JuiceBox (avail on KICKSTARTER)" in Sunnyvale.

-- If you can be in San Diego October 8 and 9, attend the Open Automotive hosted by 170+-member GENIVI automotive industrial consortium:

I will be on a panel discussion as part of the program on the 9th:

The meeting costs $199 but includes food, a harbor cruise, etc.

-- The Linux Plumbers Conference recently featured an Automotive track:

-- The Linux Foundation's Automotive Grade Linux project has hosted a series of great free webinars; watch recordings at

-- Besides what has been announced, I anticipate a January presentation by Uber and, in February by Caltrans and DOT.    Please recruit and nominate speakers yourselves.    I would particularly like to hear from the "precision agriculture" or commercial trucking or emergency responders communities.

Thanks for your interest and participation,
