Abstract
Using neural networks to summarize text has been a focus of many NLP experts. Many approaches were defined to test the capability of deep models to accurately summarize and still make sense. Summarization could be predominantly done in two different ways. In extraction approach, a neural model copies the words from the input to form a summary. Abstractive summarizations let the model pick some words from input and create some on the fly. This magical creation of summaries is quite fascinating.
But there are a couple of problems in both of these approaches that were bothering the scientists. Repetition of words is the first. Some times the summarization models repeats words/phrases. Second is a peculiar problem associated with summarization. Summary for the same text looks and sounds different when written by different authors. In such a scenario, developing a deep model to create automatic summary is challenging.
I would like to talk about some techniques used in creating summaries and some additional techniques that will help avoid the above problems. I will also give introductory info about NLP and summarization to cater to early-stage enthusiasts and also to experienced NLP architects.
Bio
SK is a AI and ML expert and a successful twice start-up entrepreneur. He is a frequent speaker in meetups and a ML/NLP blogger. He believes that machine learning and NLP enthusiasts are looking for ML/NLP sessions where they can understand more of 'how' rather than 'what'.
His focus is to develop ML models to combine image and text processing. Also. he has developed solutions in text summarization, question-answering and text mining.
