Next WebGL/WebVR Meetup to be held at the SVVR HQ in Mountain View!
Browser Implementor Update - representatives from Google Chrome, Mozilla and Safari will be on-hand and giving us an update on recent browser improvements.
Brandel Zachernuk (Formerly of Resn in New Zealand, now working in interactive graphics in the Bay Area) - Although WebGL has the benefit of running in a browser with access to other web technologies, most WebGL experiences don't make the most of it. Brandel will demonstrate his use of web APIs from SVG and 2D Canvas - and even the DOM - to build novel and expressive experiences.
Gregor Lakner (Axum Graphics) - will be presenting Auteurist, a ground breaking cloud native 3D content creation tool that is democratizing computer animation. We will be also discussing how Auteurist combines WebGL, WebXR, and ray traced production rendering to deliver unique features on mobile and desktop browsers
Romain Guy and Philip Rideout (Filament) - the Filament team have built a new physically-based rendering engine, and brought it to the web via WebAssembly and WebGL 2.0.
Xiaohan Zhang - Xiaohan has been creating some really interesting procedural art using WebGL. His talk will present some technical implementation details of some of his interactive works. (eg. - http://hellochar.com/flame)
SCHWAG ALERT - it is highly likely that the Khronos Group will be gifting us all new WebGL T-Shirts.
