Talk Title: Smart City & The Future of AI
▶ SK Reddy is an AI/ML expert and a visionary entrepreneur. He was a Product Manager for Apple and currently a Chief Product Office at Digitalist and a lecturer @ San Jose State University. Mr Reddy has very strong credentials in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and is an entrepreneur to the core. He started and sold two tech startups, one of which was an AI company, in the Bay Area.

Talk Title: Smart Payment Infrastructure
▶ Joe Davison is a Technical Program Manager at Google in Payments Infrastructure Engineering. He manages critical infrastructure projects across a team of 500+ engineers and 60+ product managers. He was previously a founder of several startups and senior engineer. In his spare time he recently served as a research advisor for a Carnegie Mellon University joint study with UC Berkeley and Siemens AG, into smart energy grid interoperability, or in the primary researcher Steven Ray’s words, “the use of ontologies and formal representations to ensure unambiguous definitions of terms and relations”. Joe is a firm believer that technology exists to improve the world. As leaders in the technology industry, we must welcome our responsibility for the future, and use our knowledge for good.
His recent areas of interest include FinTech, RegTech, Blockchain, and AI. His talk, “Smart Payments Infrastructure” covers the ways payments networks form critical infrastructure in major cities and on the Internet. He will demonstrate how this infrastructure can use machine learning to become more intelligent, to prevent things like fraud and money-laundering, while enabling safe transactions globally.
