Session I

Simon will talk about his experiences with scaling MongoDB at both Bugsnag and Heyzap and the lessons he learned while doing so. He'll discuss the various deployment options for MongoDB, going over replica-sets and sharding options, as well as discussing some concrete examples of issues he had with Mongo performance and outline some of the tools and techniques he used to identify and resolve them.

Originally from the UK, Simon earned an honors degree in mathematics and computing from the University of Bath, before moving to SF to build Heyzap's iPhone and web applications as senior software engineer. Heyzap is the worlds largest mobile gaming social network, and has taken funding from prestigious VCs including USV and Y Combinator.
