What we're about

If you like our events please consider contributing: https://gf.me/u/zh3wsp

People who want a group like in How I Met Your Mother and even though they could watch a whole season in a night, know they should probably get out of the house. People interested in waking up out of their routine and getting their ducks in a row, participating and leading in activities and making normal situations goofier and more interesting. People who like talking about behaviours, and motivations, and goals and challenges. We're hoping to pair similar goofy people with each other. We're hoping to learn about life wishes and practicing getting them done through activities and Meetup ideas. Art projects, workout buddies, gaming partners, volunteer groups, trampolines, a group of people who are all interested in going to Sears solely to try on elderly formal clothing and take pictures, maybe even walking through Sears wearing it, cooking classes or group meals, group challenges (30 days no Facebook, 30 days pack-your-own-lunch, 30 days no alcohol, 30 days wearing a bandaid on your forehead), saving money, tattoo ideas, group tattoos, maybe a group tattoo of my face, blanket forts in the home, blanket forts in a coffee shop, and other types of blanket forts.

The age bracket in the title is mostly for the "speed" and themes that are going to be present in this group. The age range of this group is generally 20 to 35.

A popular worry is that our group seems to be made of people who already know each other, and that's not untrue - BUT we all got to know each other because of the meetup. Every month or so a new member becomes a regular just by showing up to a lot of meetups and hanging out with us.

So try us out. If we fit your style, keep coming back for more!

HIKE WITH ME: P7 to King Mountain

P7

((TLDR; Come hike with me! Approx 6km, difficult hike due to gosh darn stairs & stairs and...stairs...ugh... (!), starting at P7 Parking lot (Free!), Gatineau Park. Wear proper footwear, bring water & bugspray.))
((Important note! There may not be cell service at certain locations so please be on time! We might not be able to communicate if you're late))

Hey folks, I've been making a slow-as-molasses return to the fun-and-fitness combo that is hiking, and I'd enjoy your company!

General event & hiking notes:

-I wouldn't consider myself to be a speed demon, but this aint no mall-walk; wear appropriate footwear and please be able to sustain a 3.5-4kph pace or so.

-The hike starts at 18h30-18h35 with something of an uphill, potential muddy spots to dodge, and the the King Mountain trail that has too many stairs but some sweet views/personal satisfaction for having done it.

-Please have had at least one dose of the covid-19 vaccine. If you have any plans of speaking moistly, shelve'em. General life advice.

-The only outhouse & garbage access in is the P7 parking lot.

-I suggest a proper dousing in bugspray, if you don't want to be DoorDash for the resident mosquitoes.

-It's a good idea to bring some water, either on the trail or leave it in your car; proper hydration is what the cool kids are doing. There may even be some Tik Tok vids on it. Maybe.

Etiquette:
=Let's not litter. Flat-out.
=Largely a single-file walk once we're off the initial trail leading from the parking lot.
=If you can't come, please change your RSVP, so that I can meet You2.0, ie someone from the waitlist (if we get to that, TBD).

Other: If you can provide a ride or need a ride, please organize in the comments section. Be sure to add an area of town that would suit, in both cases.

Cheers!

Online party games + webcam hangout for people in their 20s/30s

Jackbox are fun party games you can play on your phone. We use an easy to use and free software called discord for VOIP. It works best if you have discord on your laptop and jackbox on your phone. Just follow the link to make a discord account and join the server!

We use webcams to make it more social.

If you're coming please RSVP - you know who you are!

BBQ at Vincent Massey park

Vincent Massey Park

Defo bring a jacket! It's getting cold in August

Since weve been having such a swell time at Vincent Massey I thought I'd keep the ball rolling and book another BBQ. Booking for 4 hours since the park closes at 11ish.

There will be a Google sheet so you will be asked to bring something to the BBQ like burgers, pop, etc. We have a surplus from last time so requirements this time will be thin

When I arrive at the park I will post a pin of my GPS location as an image on the event page so you can figure out where to go

Please change your RSVP if you can't make it.

HIKE WITH ME: Étienne-Brulé lookout loop, approx 8.5km

Étienne-Brûlé Lookout

((TLDR; Come hike with me! Approx 8.5km, intermediate hike, starting at Étienne-Brulé lookout parking lot (Free!), Gatineau Park. Wear proper footwear, bring water & bugspray.))
((Important note! There may not be cell service at certain locations so please be on time! We might not be able to communicate if you're late))

-I wouldn't consider myself to be a speed demon, but this aint no mall-walk; wear appropriate footwear and please be able to sustain a 4-5kph pace or so.

-The hike starts at 14h00-14h05 with an icebreaker to meet your fellow hiking folk and then we'll go from there. Note that while we'll be staying on the regular trails (no bushwhacking), it's still a hike and there is the possibility of uneven terrain, mud, rocks, roots, etc., so be careful. I haven't done this particular route, but have done parts, looks to be approx 8.5km. I won't be able to access the lookout (parkways closed) until the hike, so we'll explore together!

-Please be fully vaccinated against the covid-19 virus. If you have any plans of speaking moistly, shelve'em. General life advice.

-The only outhouses & garbage access are found at the Étienne Brulé parking lot and near Western Cabin.

-I suggest a proper dousing in bugspray, if you don't want to be DoorDash for the resident mosquitoes.
