What we're about
ARES is an abbreviated self-defense system based on Wing Chun techniques which has both controlling and disabling applications. It is meant for persons looking for effective self-defense rather than learning the Wing Chun system.
ARES is designed from 4 wing chun basic techniques which are outlined in a table in this document. After 8 (90min) sessions of training (once per week) practitioners should be able to defend themselves against most types of assault. ARES is ideal for women, health care professionals, law enforcement, or military personnel.
Our focus will be to train students to take control of an assailant and either disable and/or escape from him/her by rapidly transitioning to an armbar application. Once an armbar is effectively established students will have options to safely detach or disable the attacker regardless of size or strength.
