Simon Hutchinson
Simon’s experience with IBM midrange started over 30 years ago in the United Kingdom, in a pre-AS/400 world. Since immigrating to the USA, in 1992, he has worked mostly in the South West of the USA, and is currently IT manager responsible for Power servers and IBM i for a large bank in Texas.
Simon has been writing his acclaimed IBM i blog, RPGPGM.COM, for nine years sharing his knowledge, experience, and giving many detailed examples of the latest RPG, SQL, and CL. He was recognized by IBM as an IBM Champion for Power in 2021 and 2022, and is an IBM i Community Advocate.

Synopsis:
To get the most out of your SQL in RPG programs you have to change your mindset from RPG’s record at a time type processing to start gathering and processing sets of data, made up of many rows at a time. Learn how to fetch multiple rows of data, in one SQL statement. See how much faster it is to use this data that would be RPG native I/O. Be amazed by the speed of this approach, that can even be faster that using the CPYF command.
Satid Singkorapoom
Satid has 31 years of experience as an IBM i technical specialist since the time of AS/400 + OS/400. He started his career with IBM in Thailand and then covered ASEAN geography before his retirement in January 2022. His areas of expertise are general IBM i and DB2 for i system administration and features, and performance concepts and tools in Power server HW, IBM i, and DB2 for i. He also has an acquired taste in troubleshooting problems for his ASEAN IBM i customers.
