Chat.JS - Hello 2019!

Singapore Power Digital Technology

🎉New year, new start! 🎉 ❓Chat.JS? Isn't it Talk.JS? Chat.JS is an experimental format (who doesn't like experiments?) for a more cosy talk format with a smaller group with more exchange between the speakers and audience members. It starts off with a familiar 5 minute lightning talk, presenter is free to pose 1-2 questions to the audience and there will be more time for discussion and questions and answers. Our goal is to have people talking, discussing and thinking, it isn't about the speaker telling you or sharing what they know or have done. Speakers here are the topic proposers and give a lightning introduction to the subject. They, you and everyone else are there to chip in too (or just listen if you like). Talk.JS <==> Chat.JS Get it? :) 🕖Agenda 7.00pm: Doors open - food and mingle 7.20pm: Opening address by host 7.30pm: Lightning Presentations and Chat 9.00pm: End of event 📋Current topics - ES8, ES9 and what's in the pipeline - What's new in NodeJS v10 - 3 things people routinely get wrong when working with Promises - Bluetooth musical instruments in the browser 📣 Propose a topic here! 📣 Got something in the JS sphere you want to instigate (or initiate if you prefer) a discussion about? https://github.com/SingaporeJS/talk.js/issues/18 PS. This is a one off experiment, so let us know if you have any suggestions or feedback and comment on this meetup what topics you would like. Make it something you will enjoy. :)
