Singapore Scala Programmers

Scala is a general-purpose programming language supporting both Object-Oriented and Functional programming with a strong static type system.

Scala code is compiled to run on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Community projects exist to bring the power of Scala to the JavaScript runtime and even native code (experimental).

Common use case for Scala is Big Data alongside Spark, but we are enthusiastically exploring all the corners of the language and are keen to share its novel uses.

In addition to the various topics we cover in the Meetups, we have held a number of study groups / coding dojos and currently preparing an introductory workshop aimed at programmers new to Scala.
