Hey all my favorite Cool People!

One week from tonight we jump back almost three and half years to the beginning of this group.

In early March of 2011  I stopped into the RR to enjoy dancing to Cold Shott and The Hurricane Horns.  I really loved the place for not only the music but it's diversity and it's comfortable, safe atmosphere.  Dancing at this place is, and has always been big fun for me.  You can even let go and dance alone if you want.  I've danced by myself many a time...  The floor is dimly lit and really nobody cares how , or who your dancing with.

Anyway, I knew the Phoenix Singles had a meetup here once every 2-3 months and it was always a big event.  It was big fun event but it really brought in too many people. Just became so darn crowded...People really do love this place and always looking for a reason to go.

Most everyone who comes to my events for the first time have already been to the RR in the past.  They regularly say they love this place and are glad to be back.  So, I was good friends with management back then and asked them if I could get a discount for a new Meetup group I wanted to start...they said yes and I decided to start this group...it cost 78 bucks every 6 months and the group has helped me pay that fee every time, what a great group!...so anyway back to the history,  we now needed a name.  Since the RR itself is a pretty darn Cool place already it was only fitting they we would be the (V)ery (C)ool (P)eople who make it even cooler. So hence forth, Dancing to the Blues @ the Rhythm Room meetup group began on March 28th 2011...later on to become the current VCP Of AZ Dancing @ the Rhythm Room.

For awhile, I only had events on the nights Cold Shott and the Hurricane Horns were playing. The background picture for our online Meetup Website is the original background.  It's a pic of Cold Shott and was put there from the beginning.  So we started having events a couple times a month and split off to meeting a variety of bands.  I had actually stopped scheduling Meetup events for Cold Shott awhile back after they made us wait till almost 10pm a few times to get begin. That said, I've seen them recently and understand  they're haven't been any ongoing problems. It's time we give them another Shott :)

Ok, this is a little personal but next Saturday will be my first event in a couple years, at the least, without my favorite dance partner. She has missed events in the past but this time she won't be coming back. No, she didn't die :)   We have seen our way to different paths and like grownups sometimes do, we lick our wounds and move on.  She will surely be missed.  One of the best things about this group (in my opinion) are the beautiful and single VCP women who attend. I'm sure the single VCP men would agree.  No, this is not a singles group, but single folk are more inclined to get out and meet new folk so there are certainly a lot of amazing single folk at our events.  I am sure not excited about being single again but I am happy to have so many good friends and Very Cool People to hang out with.

So, this will be a big night for me, and I hope a big night for you.

See you next Saturday for some dancing to the amazing Cold Shott and The Hurricane Horns.!!
