What we're about

This meet up will provide an event for singles to meet other singles looking for long-lasting friendships and/or relationships. The members are who create the experience. I like to believe these events are "for the community, by the community".

We encourage others to get involved because the experiences and friendships created is immeasurable!

Recurring Monthly: The Women's Dance every 3rd Saturday 7-10PM at The Rail, Hillcrest. Special days have special pre-shows from 6-7PM. Please RSVP to the events you plan to attend. By confirming your RSVP, you are helping others to stay updated on details and helps everyone know who to look for at the event.

All our events post in fb group, Lesbian Dance Party, part of the fb Page Lesbian Events San Diego: https://www.facebook.com/groups/lezdancesandiego

Please let me know if you would like to be an Ambassador for any of the events.

Thank you

Sally

Rise of the Floaties 2: A Beach Bonfire & Potluck!

Bonita Cove

$10.00

Friends in San Diego's lesbian/bi/queer/trans* womxn's communities--- We're RISING the FLOATIES again! Why? Well, why the hell not? AND you made it SO much fun & successful the first time that we must continue to RISE UP and FLOAT TOGETHER! So, what do we do out there? Imagine: A fleet of the queerest floaties on Mission Bay + your closest & newest friends from our beautiful womxn's communities + a bonfire + food = PURE BRILLIANCE! Plus, Floatilla the Fabulous, the 20x10x16 ft rainbow unicorn floaty, misses you and all of your floaties. If you're looking for a drunken raging party to kick off the summer, this event is not for you. If you want to have a casual, chill fun with really good people, LOTS of laughs---well, your hostess comes prepackaged with lots of laughter & dorkiness in general---some music, and maybe a tasty beverage or two, this will *definitely* be your place to be! Here's the spot: https://www.californiabeaches.com/beach/bonita-cove-park-on-mission-bay/ I. Bring the following: 1) A floaty! Any size and shape of your choice. 2) $10 (on this event page, Venmo, the Cash App, or in person cash the day of) -- 100% helps Kelly, your host, pay for the city permit and supplies! 3) Your favorite dish, snack (s'mores, veggies, salami, gluten-free vegan bites, etc), or beverage (no glass!) to share. We need a variety of food! Kelly loves pozole, carnitas, carne asada, and Valentina. Just sayin'! haha! LOL. Just please try your best to bring things besides chips and dip. *Plates, napkins, and silverware will be provided* *You may grill, but first come first serve. There are two no-host grills. OR set up your own *small* grill. Bring your own coals, etc. Please clean up when finished! :) 4) A bike to ride around, games, activities for sand & grassy areas, tambourines, kazoos, music (no huge speakers allowed!), or anything else that inspires you to have fun at the bay! 5) Sunscreen, towels, beach umbrellas, water to drink, blah, blah, blah! 6) An air pump. The floaty team will have one, but it would be smart to have your own. 7) An anchor of your choice. 8) Wood to burn! NO pallets or anything with nails, thank you. II. We cannot make this happen without your much appreciated help. In the spirit of creating community, please consider the following: 1) Pack it in, pack it out! Help keep our beaches cleaner than when you found it. It'll also help your host in cleanup. She will love you forever! 2) Your dogs are welcome AFTER 6pm and only on a leash. Do not bring your lovable (please, may I pet them?) fur babies before 6pm! :) 3) No alcohol is allowed. **Kelly will be the only person fined and ranger will shut the party if anyone is caught** But we're not going to be the booze police. A MOM TIP (really, Kelly's mom honestly suggested it. haha!): *Don't bring those red disposable plastic cups!* They are easily spottable. Keep it on the down-low if you're gonna partake. 4) No one will be turned away for not having a floaty. Forgot yours? Can't swim? Come anyway! :) 5) Volunteer to help set up, greet people, and break down: * Arrive early help set up. Kelly will arrive at 6am to secure spots with a beach chair, picnic, tent, and book in hand. 10:00am-1pm * Help Kelly load and unload the 65 lbs unicorn (LOL!) into and from my car. * Stay after 9pm to ready the site for the next group to use. **IMPORTANT: Swim and float at your own risk! San Diego's Finest Lesbians, MeetUp.com, Single Lesbians of San Diego, and Kelly Hutton will not be made liable for any bodily injuries or death. So, don't get in the water without a lifejacket if you cannot swim or if you just have any doubts at all. Safety is always first! There will be a first aid kit onsite and there's 24 hr/day emergency lifeguard force accessible via 911 if needed.** YAY! Thank you! Follow @riseofthefloaties on IG. This is also cross-listed on Facebook. See you there, floaties!!
