What we're about

Are you single? Do you like to have fun with other singles?
Do you like to volunteer and contribute to your community?

We will gather at assorted events around town, existing events that need additional "bodies" to help make their event a success. We will help them with their event, and then we will reward ourselves with something fun and social immediately following. Often, these local organizations just need people to accept tickets, help with parking, event set-up/break-down, handing out flyers, or putting wristbands on attendees.

Please share the following link to organizers who would like SVLV.org to help with their event: http://www.bit.ly/singlevolunteers

I participated in a similar group in South Florida years ago, and I made friends that I am still in touch with even today! And I had a lot of fun, and felt great about contributing my time to many worthwhile charities and organizations! IT WAS AWESOME! So join this MeetUp, and also if you have ideas for events where we can contribute, please contact me directly at 808.740.1177 (Thanks...Zero)

Disclaimer: The views of the organizations does not necessarily reflect the views & values of SingleVolunteers of LV. SVLV strives to provide services to a diverse group of organizations in hopes to utilize our full potential. SVLV members are not expected to participate in any meet-ups they don’t support or are uncomfortable with. In fact, we discourage it so as not to offend other SVLV members &/or the organization they’re assisting. SVLV is a proponent of ‘Respect each other’s differences’. Those that are not interested are asked to simply click on the X for NOT Going. We look forward to seeing you at the next Meetup!

NIGHT EVENT * help FirstChoice Pregnancy Services - March for Life 2019

Word of Life Christian Center

[masked] UPDATE Here is a full scan of the volunteer packet that they gave me. Click the link to see the full packet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1svn-OBtCeL1ZSg-mCc4fjDTxxVrjiySD/view?usp=sharing The event IS outside, so dress accrordingly! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ORIGINAL POST Preliminary contact established with the charity about this event right now, but we helped them with a fancy charity auction dinner last year and they are super good. FYI This charity helps ALL at-risk pregnant mothers, with care and decision making. They are a Christian organization and they do take a pro-life stance, but their primary concern is care and education, and so we help them....regardless of our own personal stance on abortion. Zero will attend the planning meeting on Jan 26 to get more details about our role(s) at the event, but they love us and so it will be good!

Walk for Wishes

Town Square

Walk For Wishes® is a nationwide Make-A-Wish® fundraiser that celebrates the more than 300,000 wishes that have already been granted, while raising funds for future wishes. It's a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, companies, donors and friends. We have just made contact with this group and they are really looking forward to us volunteering for this event. They are also looking for permanent volunteers. I can forward that information individually if you’d like. I will have more specific details in the days to come. Really hope you can make this walk, so many people depend on volunteers like us.

Out of the Darkness Walk-AFSP

Craig Ranch Regional Park

When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss. This walk is in the very early stages of planning. As information arrives, I will forward to you immediately. We have volunteered for this group before, and we impressed them so much they would like us to help for all of their events. Thanks to Walkers and Donors like you, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025.
