What we're about

You heard correctly, single = not married! This group is for singles (whether in or out of a relationship) living in the suburbs of DC. Meetups include a wide variety of activities at all different venues, as often as possible!

Meeting someone, whether it's that "special" person or simply a good friend, can be hard in this area - especially when living in the suburbs! Many people find that, suddenly, their "circle of friends" consists of married couples or those in serious relationships. This makes it hard to meet that possible "special someone" but also makes it difficult when you are simply looking to hang out with someone in the same "single boat" as you!

This group is meant to provide opportunities for singles to meet and participate in a wide range of activities.

Many friendships have formed through this group! Our motto - just have fun!Contact any of the Organizers at any time with suggestions and questions! We look forward to meeting you!

South Korea Cherry Blossoms - 2023 TRIP INTEREST

Needs a location

I know that 2023 seems to be a lifetime away but I'm looking at my schedule of where to explore for the group in the next 12 - 18 months and what trips everyone will be interested in.

I've always wanted to take a group to my birth country of South Korea and what better time of year to go than during Cherry Blossom season.

This will be a very small group tour of 8 - 10 people and trip price will be in the $1,999 - $2,199 per person double occupancy range. I'm working on the itinerary and we'll visit Seoul, Busan, and another city taking the train and public metro system.

Arrive in Ushuaia at any time. Arrival transfer included. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the world's most southerly city.

Day 2 – Ushuaia / Drake Passage
Enjoy a free morning in Ushuaia. Do any last minute shopping, explore the town, or visit the surrounding countryside. Embarkation on the ship begins in the afternoon at the port in Ushuaia. Enjoy the evening sailing through the Beagle Channel.

Days 3 – 4 – Drake Passage / South Shetland Islands
The adventure begins with an 1000 km (600 miles) crossing of the passage named in honor of 16th-century English sea captain and privateer, Sir Francis Drake. The ship is at home in this part of the Southern Ocean. Take in daily lectures from the expedition team and keep an eye out for icebergs, whales, and albatross following in the ship's wake.

Days 5 – 10 – South Shetland Islands/Antarctic Peninsula
With a total of six days to explore the world's most southerly ecosystem, there's more time to encounter the unique wildlife and awe-inspiring scenery of the Antarctic. Attempt two shore landings per day (weather permitting) to encounter penguin rookeries, get a good look at the variety of seal species, and keep an eye out for the whales that feed in the peninsula's cold, fertile waters.
Meals included : Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner

Days 11 – 12 Drake Passage / Ushuaia
Begin the journey north to the home port of Ushuaia. Review the highlights of the Antarctic experience with the lecturers and staff. Keep eyes peeled on the observation deck for some last-minute whale sightings.
