HAI's Halloween Party!!!
Join us for HAI's EIGHTH Annual Halloween Party at David's place! We are looking forward to a spooktacular evening... Let out your inner teddy bear, hamburger, styin' lady bug, zombie or whatever you have in there, to dance and eat and enjoy a night with friends, old and new, dead and undead. All are welcome! Bring friends! Bring scary things to eat! Bring your scary dance moves! BYOB and potluck yyyuuuuuumms! $10-15 sliding scale or PWYC (pay what you can) for anyone on a tight budget. All funds go towards the HAI Ontario Scholarship Fund. Please [masked] if you'd like to help organize, decorate or otherwise help out for the party. ***Please do not wear a costume that would be considered cultural appropriation; for example, the stereotype of a culture, especially that is not your own ethno-cultural background, or you have to change the colour of your skin for the costume (ie a Native Indian, China Doll, Bollywood Star, Arab Sheik or Princess, Geisha Girl, Mexican w/ a Poncho and Sombrero, anything with blackface or whiteface) *** HAI Ontario creates communities where people live in dignity, respect, understanding, trust, kindness, compassion, reverence, honesty, and love. To create that kind of community means that touch & interactions are consensual. Some loving reminders: ♥ Consent creates safety, care and love ♥ Never assume consent. Just ask! ♥ Just because you've shared touch before, doesn't mean you have permission to again ♥ Always ask before touching or sharing a hug with someone ♥ Ask what people’s boundaries and limits are ♥ If you’re not sure if somebody has agreed to being hugged, touched or another interaction, ask them ♥ Say yes when you mean yes, no when you mean no ♥ If you’re a maybe, or not sure, or later, say no ♥ Share your boundaries clearly ♥ If you need any assistance communicating your boundaries, are experiencing a challenging situation, your boundaries are being crossed or you have a concern about something that is happening at the party, please let Ally or Michael know as soon as possible. PARKING: you can find street parking in the area, but it only goes until midnight. We suggest using the Green P parking lot, which is just around the corner: Green P Parking at 1117 Dundas St. West (https://goo.gl/maps/SepgDXVBnKT2) Our social events and workshops provide people the opportunity to make profound change – away from isolation and separation, towards connection and community. HAI welcomes and encourages adults of all ages, relationship statuses, ethno-cultural backgrounds, socio-economic statuses, physical abilities, gender identities, sexual orientations and relationship practices to join. This event is cross-posted with the HAI Ontario meetup (http://www.meetup.com/HAIOntario) and our HAI Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/HAIOntario/), where many of us first met. *Unfortunately this location not wheelchair accessible; there are steps leading up to the front door of the house. Email us if you'd like more information on the accessibility **For those with allergies, there are dogs in this home ***This is an adult/18+ kinda party.

What we're about

An alternative to singles events as usual, this is not a dating site. We are the single and available folks of HAI (the Human Awareness Institute) Ontario!

There are a lot of single people out there, and lots of singles events. So why does it sometimes seem so hard to meet the people you really want to connect with? Are you looking for a better way to meet and make meaningful connections with like-minded people? Singles Seeking Genuine Connection offers a whole new way to meet people. Join us in creating events for people to have fun, make friends and get to know each other in a natural, comfortable way. Learn more about yourself and others. We are all about connecting with each other in a way that feels real and meaningful.

Our Meetup of singles invites you to connect with our larger HAI community seeking deeper connection; a community that doesn't disappear if you find or have a partner. Our events include workshops where we help each other to learn communication skills to improve our relationships in every area of life. We have workshops with the themes of love, intimacy and sexuality, as well as potluck parties, group outings, hikes, concerts, etc. We welcome and encourage people of all backgrounds. Come join us!

Our workshops and social events offer people the opportunity to make profound change - away from isolation and separation, towards connection and community. HAI welcomes adults of all ages, relationship statuses, ethno-cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic statuses, physical abilities, gender identities and sexual orientations.

We post all events here, and we also share our events on HAI Ontario on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/HAIOntario) as well as our other group, HAI Ontario Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/HAIOntario/).
