What we're about

Ready for fun and friendship? Join one of Central Ohio's most exclusive singles social groups to meet real people, make new friends and experience all that the Columbus area has to offer. This group is intended for the active, single person to get out into social settings that they prefer to do with other like minded singles. The focus of the group is to have a mix of everything; outdoor activities, dining out, wine tastings, happy hours, art exhibits, movies, festivals, night life, social gatherings and whatever else we can come up with!

1. We are not a dating group or service; we are a singles social group. We are not open to everyone. Our members pay a membership fee to join, and in return they can relax and feel that the organizers are taking extra steps for their safety and comfort.

2. You must have a head shot photo featuring only you, so we can identify you when you come to an event.

3. We vary the location of our events throughout Central Ohio.

4. Please, no solicitation of you or your business.

5. If you RSVP "Yes" to an event, please honor that commitment or change your RSVP to "No" within a reasonable amount of time if you find out you can't attend. This is just respectful to the group and event location. "No Shows" are no bueno.

We welcome members of all ages. Most of our members range from the mid 30's to mid 60's.

Our events are known as “Mix & Mingles” because we encourage everyone to be on their feet and engaging in conversations with other members.

Our one-time only membership fee of $20 is due at the time of membership application. For brief instructions click here: http://www.meetup.com/SinglesMingles/pages/How_to_pay_the_One-time_Lifetime_Membership_fee/ Approval cannot be granted for incomplete or nonsense responses, one word answers, or without a clear photo of the member-applicant.

Now, join us and start a new approach to making friends and perhaps finding a soul-mate in an organic way; something which online dating sites simply cannot do for you!

Happy hour, dinner and old school mingle

Millers Ale House

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a traditional mingle event. You remember how these work - everyone on their feet, meeting everyone in attendance (and you know everyone’s name because they have a name tag, and wear it), mingling over a cocktail and munchies, then moving to tables to enjoy dinner. We’ll gather in the enclosed bar area (where we’ve had our holiday get togethers). Grab a drink and get gabbing. Your host will have some icebreaker topics to get the conversations started, if needed. How to stay in touch with the organizer on the day of the event: If you must contact the host on the day of the event, if you want to give a heads up that you'll be late, you're having trouble finding us, etc, please TEXT ONLY to[masked] and identify yourself in your text. THIS NUMBER IS FOR TEXTING ONLY ON THE DAY OF THE MEETUP. Once the event begins, it becomes more difficult for the hosts to respond to your text messages, as we are also enjoying the event. The venues where we hold our events count on us to be good patrons. Support your wait staff with generous tips and they'll be glad to have us back again. When you RSVP to attend an event, we plan for you in our numbers, and we look forward to seeing you. Be true to your intentions to join us. If you must change your plans, do so with plenty of advance notice (1-2 days is much better than 1-2 hours). If you would like to join us without an RSVP, contact the host. The cut off for RSVPs is Wednesday, April 24 at 5:00 pm. The host reserves the right to cancel the meetup if the response is low. As always, feel free to bring a WingMingler (a guest). It requires involvement and some work to enlarge one's social circle. SMOCO Meetups are the perfect way to make new connections.

Giving Back – Blanket Workshop

407 W Main St

This is a new branch of Single Mingles where we will be giving back. It is a joint meet-up w/ the Meet-2-Eat group. I have partnered up with My Very Own Blanket (MVOB) to host a workshop to make no-sew fleece blankets. MVOB is dedicated to warming the heart of every child in the foster care system with a blanket which gives them a feeling of comfort, security, and most of all, a SMILE. This is a super easy and fun way to give to Ohio children in need. All you need to do is bring yourself and $10 (per blanket - cash, check or credit card) and we will show you exactly what to do. One blanket can be completed in 40 to 45 minutes. So, if you feel like it you can complete two. You are welcome to bring a bite to nibble on and any beverage you would like, that’s including alcoholic beverages. Our weekday evening meetup will meet from 6 to 8…we’ll give everyone a chance to come in and get settled and start around 6:10. Our Saturday meetup will meet from 10 to 12…we’ll give everyone a chance to come in and get settled and start around 10:10. My Very Own Blanket 407 W Main Street (W. Main St and S. Cleveland Ave, part of the strip mall, entrance facing Main St) Westerville, Ohio[masked] | https://www.myveryownblanket.org/ This is what we will be doing; https://www.myveryownblanket.org/uploads/1/1/1/0/111030427/fleece_blanket_directions.pdf

Batter Up! Clippers afternoon game

Huntington Park (Clippers' Baseball Stadium)

It’s spring and the start of baseball season! The Clippers have an afternoon game, so let’s soak up some sun, drink a beer, grab a stadium dog and cheer on our team. First pitch is at 2:05pm. Buy a ticket of your choosing (I’m going with a standing room or bleacher ticket for $7) and head to the center field entrance. Look for the door to the Hall of Fame bar, proceed to the 2nd floor. There is some seating in the bar, and there are places to watch the game throughout the park. It’s a great ballpark, with nearly every seat giving you a great view of the field. How to stay in touch with the organizer on the day of the event: If you must contact the host on the day of the event, if you want to give a heads up that you'll be late, you're having trouble finding us, etc, please TEXT ONLY to[masked] and identify yourself in your text.
