What we're about

This is a group for anyone interested in the growing profession of Development Operations -- aka DevOps. All skill & interest levels are welcome & appreciated. This is a relatively new & growing profession -- full of opportunity for new insights, ideas, innovations & inventions. If you have an interest or desire to learn about, participate in or advance the cause of the DevOps profession -- you can't go wrong in joining this group.

From Wikipedia: DevOps (a clipped compound (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clipped_compound) of "development" and "operations") is a software development methodology (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methodology) that combines software development (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_development) (Dev) with information technology operations (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information_technology_operations) (Ops). The goal of DevOps is to shorten the systems development life cycle (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Systems_development_life_cycle) while delivering features, fixes, and updates frequently in close alignment with business objectives.

Fine print: We launch this meetup with & will sustain in it an ethic of openness towards technology alternatives, open source alternatives, provider alternatives & work that advances the state of the art -- whether that is open source, proprietary, experimental or under research.
