Sistas Who Walk was created to help motivate each other as women, whether you're on a weight loss journey, fitness journey, or just enjoy walking.
Walking is the easiest exercise you can do and is one of the first things people do when starting an exercise program (i.e. walking at the park/neighborhood or walking on the treadmill at the gym).
Exercise is one of the best stress relievers and makes you feel good. It's also good for your health, mentally & physically.
Anybody can exercise alone, why not get together with a group of ladies to motivate/encourage, socialize, & bond while reaching our exercise goals?
Whether you're a slow stepper (beginner), fast pacer (advanced), or runner, feel free to join in on the fun.
Distance/miles and calories burned are not important in this group. We just want everyone to be motivated & excited to participate. If you have personal fitness goals that you're tracking by all means go for it. We're here to support you.
If you want to remain in the group we encourage you to participate at least once per month. If there is no participation from you within 30 days of joining, you will be removed. We understand that everyone have busy lives but we ask that you make the effort and commitment for your health.
**Please check with your doctor before starting any exercise program (even walking). Also remember to wear comfortable walking shoes, dress according to the weather, and stay hydrated. The group walks will be at least an hour.**
