Skater's Quest, formed in 1997, is an inline skating school and events company in the Washington, DC Metro Area. Taught by certified inline skating instructors, our lessons are offered for all ages and ability levels from the first time skater to the avid skating enthusiast to the speed skater.

Skater's Quest Trail Marathon

We are excited to present the 5th Annual Skater's Quest Trail Marathon. If you have never participated in a 26-mile event, this is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself, have fun and raise money for DC Inner City Excellence (DC-ICE). DETAILS Date: Saturday, October 24, 2020 Start Time: 9:00 AM Location: Indian Head Rail Trail (White Plains End) Distance: 26 miles Awards: Top 3 in each Division for Men and Women Receive updates on our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/events/214964119587579/ AGE CATEGORIES Junior 14-18, Senior 19-24, Classic 25-34, Master 35-44, Veteran 45-54, Grand Veteran 55-64, Esquire 65-74, Grand Esquire 75+ REGISTRATION Note: To keep costs down, this is not a chipped time event. -$70.00 On-site registration -$50.00 Pre-registration before October 23rd: https://forms.gle/32YEV2PatdroptDE8 NOTE: After completing the registration form, you will receive an emailed invoice for event payment. COURSE The course (https://www.charlescountyparks.com/sites/charlescountyparks.com/files/parks/Trails/IHRT/railtrailmapApril2013.pdf) is on the Indian Head Rail Trail which is 13 miles long. The start and finish will be at the White Plains end of the trail and the turn around will be at the other end Mattingly Avenue. There are intersections to cross to please be prepared to stop for traffic! There are 5 portable toilets along the trail. EVENT REQUIREMENTS Eligibility – All participants must be at least 14 years of age. Waiver – All skating participants must check in and complete a waiver prior to skating. Drafting & Etiquette – Cross-gender drafting is permitted. All skaters are requested to skate in the right side of the trail to allow for incident free passing by cyclists. Event Number – All participants must wear their event number on their left thigh and hand in the tear tag when finishing. Protective Equipment – All participants are required to wear a helmet and wrist protection. Knee and elbow pads are recommended. Personal Hydration – It is recommended that all participants bring their own personal hydration system (e.g. water bottle or Camelbak) or have supporters available to hand you water bottles. Join the Skater's Quest Fall Fitness Inline Training (FIT) Program and receive a training plan and a schedule regular practices. Practice starts on Sunday, August 30th! Cost is $100 for the basic FIT Program and there are options to supersize your FIT Program by adding personal training or nutrition services.
