Slow Spokes Intermediate+ Ride

Slow Spokes Intermediate+ Ride

Details

A signed liability waiver is required each year for every participant. The form can be found at waiver.slowspokes.net

If you would like to come out, please RSVP and leave a comment specifying the pace you would like to ride so we can determine which groups will have ride leaders. Groups may not have designated leaders, depending on attendance.

Routes:

Routes will be determined at the start of each ride. Please join the NCBC Ride with GPS club page below to access turn-by-turn directions using the RwGPS app for Slow Spokes routes (or visit nav.ncbikeclub.net):

https://ridewithgps.com/clubs/446-ncbc?join_code=gD460OXNqHGRPGQx

The routes can be accessed through the RwGPS app under the "Club Routes" tab. Download the routes to your device if space is available to avoid issues with cell reception during the ride.

No matter the season, but especially during the summer, please be sure to bring plenty of water and a snack so that you can stay hydrated and refuel as needed.

Ride Pace Classifications:
(A) 20+mph
(A-) 18-20mph
(B) 16-18mph
(C) 14-16mph

Groups depend on who shows up. This is the average pace to maintain for the duration of the ride. Please choose the appropriate group to ride with. Ride is NO-DROP but you should be sensitive to the average pace each group is targeting.

Post-ride food/drinks TBD. Several options are available nearby.

Comments:

Slow Spokes is a subculture of the North Carolina Bicycle Club (NCBC) (http://www.ncbikeclub.net).

All riders should carry proper equipment in case they have a flat (spare tube, pump or CO2 cartridge). All bicycles should be in proper mechanical order.

It is strongly recommended that you carry your driver's license, health insurance card (or copies), a note containing emergency contact information or Road I.D. in case of an emergency. You may also want to program your cell phone with an emergency contact number under the name "ICE" In Case of Emergency. The note containing emergency contact information may be used if your cell phone becomes inoperable following a crash.
