What we're about
The goal of this group is to serve the queer, gender diverse, trans community and spread the word about public events in Southern California. These include social gatherings, political action, drag shows, support groups, and just about anything safe & open* that you lovelies come up with.
We also host monthly gender diverse dinners for people of all sorts of genders and presentations*. Come, relax, chat, share a meal, meet someone new!
*includes cisgender, genderless + fluid folks; femmes, bois, crossdressers, faeries, bears, transies, studs, grrls, everyone!
Most of the sources at this point are in Los Angeles, Long Beach, and Orange County, but contacts and information about San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, Oceanside, and elsewhere are welcome. For the most up to date info, check out:
*Safe and Open: Especially at our dinners, creating a space that is safe for all genders and expressions is important. This means that we include PGPs in our introductions. If you are someone still searching for pronouns that fit you, or if you are someone who prefers not to have pronouns directed at you, or if you just don't have a preference, we celebrate you equally. If, however, you are a cis person or someone who hasn't ever thought about the privilege associated with always being called by pronouns that sound right to you, please read this as a primer to make sure that this is the right space for you: http://feministing.com/2015/02/03/how-using-they-as-a-singular-pronoun-can-change-the-world
