Sand Hollow Clover Leaf Tour w/ FATCO, Epic 3-Day Weekend!
• What we'll do Hi All, It's time for another FATCO/ SoCal RZR/ UTV Meetup Ride! This will be an INTERMEDIATE LEVEL ride with area's of Rock Crawling, Dunes and more. Each day will be 50+ miles of technical driving. Please review all before signing up. DAY 1- Friday Sept 21st, 2018- On Day 1 we spend our day getting to know the surrounding area of Sand Mountain. FATCO will meet you all at The Sand Pit Camping area and we’ll head out right from your camps! Be sure to bring a flag as we will be traversing the red sand dunes on our way to the rocky edge of this HUGE mesa! Once on the edge we will spend a few hours rock crawling through some of the coolest technical rock section the area has to offer! Its beautiful in these rocks and the trail will challenge one and all! After we tour through the rocks will drop off the mesa and into Warner Valley. We’ll stop at the Historic Fort Pierce Wash Compound and check out the remnant of the old Mormon Strong Hold used to shelter the early settlers from Indian attacks at the early pioneers traveled through the area. After Fort Pierce our group will head to the Warner Valley Dinosaur Tracks area and check out the petrified sand dunes and the tracks left behind by several species of dinosaurs! Day 2- Saturday Sept 22nd, 2018- On Day-2 were going to Babylon, not the actual Babylon but a small historic site where the Mormon Pioneers sent workers who were “not of the Mormon faith” to extract silver mined from Silver Reef Utah. The foundation of this old stamp mill still remains today and are directly on the west bank of the Virgin River. After or visit to Babylon we head to the town of Silver Reef and their museum memorializing the rich mining history of the area. After our stop in Silver Reef we’ll head up the Purgatory Cliffs and check out the US Postal Service’s directional arrows. These forgotten landmarks still exist and were used in the early 1900s for US Mail Pilots to navigate from Los Angeles to New York before GPS and instruments existed! Day 3 Sunday Sept 23rd, 2018- Saving the best day for the last! FATCO will meet you at your camps and we’ll head to FATCO’s Coffee Headquarters, River Rock Roasting Company for breakfast. The place is off the hook! After breakfast and coffee we head up Nephi’s Twist Traill and onto the side of Smith Mesa. Its a rough and rocky start to the day. Once on the side of the mesa we drop into Ash Creek and head right up the river to Toquerville Falls. An epic crawl up the river. Once at the falls well have lunch and then decided if we want more rough stuff or an easy ride back to your camp! There is a minimal cost for this tour.
