If you've ever wondered how to play Dungeons and Dragons, this meetup is for you! We're looking for total newbies who want to learn how to play D&D (5th Edition)!
Our itinerary looks something like this:
- Icebreakers! Who are you and what are you hoping to learn?
- Introduction to terminology and game basics
- Basic Play: See how to participate in a basic encounter!
- Mechanics: We bore you with hardcore numbers and technical jargon
- Character Creation: You make a viable character!
- Combat Practice: We try to kill your character!
- Conclusion: You ask questions and decide this is fun enough to play for real.
About your organizers: We're a couple of Dungeon Masters (DMs) who already run D&D 5th Edition campaigns for some of our friends! We will happily answer any questions you may have, no matter how silly. Come ready to learn!
Attendance is limited, so please keep your RSVPs up to date and if you can't make it, please RSVP as not attending. Don't worry if you don't get a spot - we'll be doing this again, hopefully with a few lessons learned from this meetup!
We will also hopefully be running a How to DM workshop in the future, so to all you DM hopefuls out there, rest assured, we haven't forgotten about you.
