SoCal Weekday Riders formerly called SCAMROF (Seasoned Citizens And Motorcycle Riding Old Farts), has been around since 1996. Here is a brief history of our club:

SCAMROF was founded by Joe Beautz and his neighbor Armand in Simi Valley, California in the late 1990's. It was a branch off from another club Joe & Armand created called "The Far West Ramblers" which was a Yamaha Virago Club that also included the Yamaha V-Star when it came out to replace the Virago.

Although it was a Yamaha group, Joe accepted any type of bike to ride with them. Then Joe and a group of retired riding buddies thought it would be great to have another group that rides during the weekdays. SCAMROF was born.

Joe retired from riding and a new generation took over the handlebars. David, Walt, and Doug are the current Ride Captains. We are on a mission to keep the group thriving and keep the SCAMROF pioneers dream alive! As of January 2014, we have decided to rename our club SoCal Weekday Riders because the acronym of SCAMROF was too difficult for many people to wrap their heads around! We believe this will be a better description for who we are and what we do.

We invite you to come and join us! You must have at least TWO years of riding experience and feel comfortable riding the canyons, since that's where most of our rides take place. We are not crotch rocket racers, however we do occasionally run at a brisk pace, with very little freeway riding.
If you like the canyons but prefer to ride a little slower, that's OK too, we always wait for the more prudent rider at the next route turn or stop sign. We do not abandon our riders. Most of our rides are between 150 and 250 miles in length, with occasional overnight's.
You must have a current insurance policy to be a SoCal Weekday Rider. Motorcycle riding is inherently dangerous. By riding with SoCal Weekday Riders, you agree that you are riding at your own risk. Let’s have some fun, friendship & great food! See you soon!!!
