SoCalX is a San Diego-based adventure group and collective for experienced outdoor enthusiasts. Our adventures can be found on the social media links above..👆
There are lots of hiking groups suited for beginners or children. That's not us. Our events tend to be more trailblazing and less trail following. We strongly encourage the learning and sharing of new skills such as rappelling, first aid, navigation, confined space training, etc. Some trips are pretty basic, while others are quite dangerous and may require a specific skillset or gear.

SoCalX adventures include: Hiking, backpacking, camping, urban exploration, roadtrip, mountaineering, caving, exploring abandoned mines, snorkeling, wet coastal hikes, offroading, climbing, rappelling...

Please keep in mind that more often than not, we are going somewhere we have never been and exploration is the name of the game. The more technical or complicated trips will have specific details and requirements. Please thoroughly read the events you RSVP to and be sure you meet the requirements.

Rules, Guidelines, & Notes:

1) Your profile name must be your real name and your picture needs to show your face so other members can recognize you.

2)SoCalX is 18+ Adults Only. No children.

3) Please leave your furry friends at home. No dogs.

4)If you aren't going to show up to something you RSVP'd for or you're unsure if you can make it, please be courteous to the event organizers by updating your RSVP. As a new member, you get one No Show.

5)Please arrive early to events. We generally leave within a few minutes of the posted start time, particularly if we have a long drive ahead.

6)Thoroughly read the event description before RSVP'ing so you know what you're getting into. You must have the proper gear and come prepared according to that description. Please speak up in the comments for an event if you have questions or concerns about anything at all.

7)Event details, dates, and times may change! You are responsible for keeping up to date by reading event descriptions, event comments, and group emails!

8) We choose to limit the distribution of the exact locations of mines & caves in order to help minimize foot traffic and would-be vandals, and I expect members to exercise the same discretion. Keep California Beautiful!

9)We DO NOT condone trespassing, vandalism, or the destruction of property or nature! This group will always practice Leave No Trace, and Take Only Photographs.

10)We want active members and contributors. Upon joining, you have 60 days to get involved or you will be removed. This is, afterall, a Private Group. We're not obligated to host lurkers or tourists.
