MEET LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE & MAKE NEW FRIENDS - SATURDAY (the 18th at 3:00)

Perfect for beginners, shy people and expert riders. This is a beautiful time of day to bike for 2 hours and then meet back at the outdoor tables in the shopping center across from Balboa Island for pizza and tailgating. Bayside shopping center has a Pavilions, a pizza shop and outdoor tables available after the ride and as we enjoy the day turning to dusk, ‘the Gloaming’ when colors become vibrant, beauty unfolds and nuances are revealed.

THE BIKE TOUR – A CROWD FAVORITE

Sightseeing 101 for Newport Beach. On this ride you will see Pirates, Cowboys & Indians, you will ride all the way across the USA, find out why ‘The Wedge’ turned John Wayne to acting and go places you’ve never been. Really!

NOT a ‘pack ride’ on PCH but keeping to trails and side streets. We rdie as a group. Beach cruise, spin hard or both. Great for first timers and plan for 2 hours and 12 miles. We leave Bayside shopping center and climb Newport Heights – Hoag Ridge for amazing views. We drop down to the to a neighborhood route to the Boardwalk and then to the end of Newport Peninsula and ‘The Wedge’. Then across on the ferry to Balboa Island and back to the start.

We plan the ride you bring the enthusiasm as your altitude is determined by your attitude. A few hills and one hill that beach cruisers will walk but primarily flat. You will get exercise and it’s a nice day for a walk too! Have fun, meet like-minded people, be safe and enjoy the beauty of where we live. The mandate is Be Safe and Have Fun. No one gets left behind. Open for all levels. The ride stays away from cars and on paths as much as possible. The Ferry is $1.25 each way – Cash Only.

TAILGATE

Let’s Eat! Bayside shopping center has a Pavilions, a pizza shop and outdoor tables available as we enjoy the day turning to dusk. BYOB and bring food or potluck. We will enjoy the evening until home beckons and it’s time to go. Refresh and focus for the Sunday and the week ahead. Bring a jacket for dusk.

Please! – No creepy, negative types, anger issues or controlling behavior invited. This is always a supportive group of like-minded people and it is important that people feel safe. Some adventurous people are trying Meet Up and a bike ride for the first time and we plan with this in mind. No Boom Boxes and no politics. Thank you

Park in the Bayside Center Shopping Plaza and walk across the bridge onto Balboa Island. First building on the right is the bike rental shop. Easy Peasy!
